Check out our new video initiative aiming to spotlight Asian Canadians that would like to share their knowledge, experience, and/or input about Anti-Asian Hate.
We are looking to interview Asian-Canadians about their experiences as minorities in Canada, and how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected them. Participants do not have to speak English or have had specific experiences with hate.
For those who are interested, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org ! Please read below for how to take part:
Participants will be provided a consent form to further familiarize the participant about our project, how it will flow, potential benefits and risks. The participant will indicate their consent by their signature.
Questions will be shared with participants prior to ensure they are comfortable and prepared. We can also send a copy of their interview if participants wish to review what they said.
Interviews will ideally in-person with COVID-19 restrictions in effect, however we will also arrange remote ZOOM meetings for those outside of Calgary, Alberta. Interviews will also be edited as needed for the final video.
We aim to share the project online through platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, and at potential fundraisers and library events.
We hope that this initiative will amplify Asian-Canadian voices, and educate the Canadian public about the consequences of hatred.
If you have any questions / suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out!
