Music Workshop - Friday
On Fridays at 7pm (MDT), we have several youth volunteers sharing their song-writing experiences & tips, as well as play-alongs and performances.
Here are a few of our instructors:
Hi! My name is Melody Zhou, and I’m a grade 10 student at Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School. I love playing basketball, and was the team captain of my team this year. Mostly, I love singing and song-writing, and playing the piano and ukulele.
Lesson outline:
1st week - explaining how i wrote my own song called “the devil’s hour” and teaching you how to play it on the ukulele
2nd week - teaching you how to play and sing “all i want” by kodaline on the ukulele
3rd week - teaching you how to play and sing “somebody that i used to know” by gotye on the ukulele
4th week - explaining how i wrote my song “the future” and teaching you how to play it on ukulele
Rona Kong is a gifted 16-year-old girl. She demonstrated a strong ability for music at a very young age. Rona enjoys experiencing music in a variety of forms, including piano, guitar, ukulele, songwriting, and more! Her music playing, according to her teacher and others, is "committed, intelligent, highly musical, and thoughtful."
